We began efforts to sell our house and lot next door by using the For Sale by Owner (FSBO) services in June of 2011.  During the following few months a variety of real estate agents made contact wanting to list our property for us; many were aggressive in their approach.  In August or so, Christina called to introduce herself as she had seen our FSBO sign while driving to pick up her children from school.  Letting her know that we had as yet had no offers, she freely gave us a few pointers on things we might do to improve our market exposure.  She did not actively solicit us for listing.  This first interaction was very pleasant and friendly with no expectations.

In October, Christina again contacted us to see how things were going. Still unsuccessful in finding a buyer through our FSBO efforts, we decided to invite Christina over just to discuss the possibility of listing with her.  We had quite a few options having had many agent contacts.  We could also have chosen to go to a realtor we had worked with before and asked them to find us an agent.  However, remembering the kind, voluntary nature of the help offered by Christina, we chose to give her a chance. After meeting with her, it was our decision to sign with her as our agent.

Listing and working through offers and the closing process with Christina was at all times a pleasure.  Her knowledge, professionalism, and self-confidence were certain guarantees that we would be treated well and respectfully. In that we were definitely very pleased.  Christina delivered on all counts – her estimates of our market value and time on market were right on the mark as were her assurances she would work hard to get what we needed. She communicated regularly with us, keeping us informed of interested parties in a timely fashion, always offering encouragement along the way.
